BEAUMONT Street has been reopened to westbound traffic after being closed since Friday evening.
The road was shut from about 4.45pm when a fire started at the Randolph Hotel and emergency services rushed to the area to tackle the blaze.
A cordon was established around the building but was gradually scaled back over the weekend to allow bus and taxis to use St Giles and Magdalen Street again.
Despite today’s partial reopening of Beaumont Street, Oxfordshire County Council said this morning that the eastbound side closest to the hotel would remain shut while repairs are carried out to the flame-stricken hotel’s roof.
It has recommended eastbound vehicles take a diversion via Walton Street.
