SPRING was in the air at the Earth Trust Centre in Little Wittenham when visitors met the first lambs of the season.
The centre’s lambing weekends saw people come to learn about sheep with resident shepherds and watch ewes and their newborn lambs. There was also a range of activitiesincluding face-painting and making pom-pom sheep and outdoor play such as den building, hay bale climbing and a sheep hunt.
Children had the chance to ride a tractor and trailer around the farm and roll their own candle.
There were lamb burgers available from last year’s flock as young visitors were given some insight into where their food comes from and how it is reared.
The 470 sheep across 400 acres of meadows are kept in check by sheepdogs Fly and Bob.
