MOTORISTS were left facing long delays yesterday after crashes on the A420 at Faringdon and London Road in Headington.

The A420 was closed for about two hours from 8am after three vehicles were involved in a collision.

Two people were taken to hospital when a Vauxhall Corsa ended up in a ditch by the road after colliding with a Mercedes.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Three ambulance crews and an ambulance officer were sent to the scene and two patients were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.”

One person was taken to hospital following the collision in London Road.

A car and a motorbike were involved in a smash at the Green Road roundabout shortly before 8am, blocking one lane.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.52am and sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance.

“One patient has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.”

She could not confirm if it was the motorcyclist who was taken to hospital.

All Oxford Bus Company services in the Headington area were delayed by up to 30 minutes as a result of the collision.
