ADULTS enjoyed a pottery class at the East Oxford Community Centre.

The popular classes, which allow adults to get in touch with their creative side, have been running in the Princes Street venue for 20 years.

Retired catering worker Pat Schlueter, 74, from Jericho, said of her experience: “I’ve been coming to this lovely class for about three years. It really is great fun and you end up with wonky pots and all sorts of funny bits!

“Because I have so many items, I ask my friends what they would like me to make them.”

Students work on making everything from sculptures to platters and bowls, using potters’ wheels and their hands.

Ros Collett, 56, a professional potter from Marston who runs the classes, said: “It’s lovely to be able to exercise people’s creativity. They’re artistic when they didn’t know they were.

“People join up and they don’t want to leave!”

Classes run Mondays to Wednesdays from 7-9pm, with a drop-in session on Thursday from 8pm to 10pm. Places cost £10 a session.
