THERE was a blast from the past at Oxford’s Town Hall when youngsters enjoyed a Victorian fun day.
Historical interpreter Paul Harding, from Discover History, dressed up as a 19th century railway worker to talk about Victorian transport.
He said: “It was a battle between people who used to travel along the canals and the new railways.
“There were crafts for the children and they could make their own little trains which they could take home. There was also a bit of a debate between myself as a railway worker and another colleague who was a canal worker.
“It is quite an interesting subject, the way our ancestors used to travel around.”
