Sport heroes from Oxford will carry the Queen’s Baton ahead of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The city council has selected four people from Oxford to take part in the relay, which arrives in Oxford on Friday, June 6.
Ian Warland, 50, Juliet Field, 67, and Jonny Pemberton, 33, were announced today as the official baton bearers. The council is due to name the fourth shortly.
They will carry the baton to a free ‘have-a-go’ sports session in Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park from 3pm. There will also be a Zumbathon from 6.30pm to celebrate the Queen’s Baton Relay.
The Commonwealth Games take place in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3.
