Brain yields secrets in stroke research

Researchers at Oxford University have been able to explain for the first time why the brain has an innate ability to protect itself from stroke damage.
The scientists hope that harnessing this inbuilt mechanism, identified in rats, could help treat strokes and prevent other neurodegenerative diseases.
