THREE football fans have been barred from matches following arrests at Saturday’s Oxford United game.
Two 47-year-olds and a 45-year-old were arrested on public order offences ahead of the match against Bristol Rovers at the Kassam Stadium.
The two Oxford men and one man from Bristol have been given match bans under bail conditions not to go within a designated radius of London stadiums or the Kassam Stadium for United or England games.
Some 7,608 Oxford and Bristol fans attended the fixture, which Rovers won 2-0. There were no reports of any post-match incidents.
Superintendent Christian Bunt said: “There is an ongoing post-match investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding what happened.
“There was a substantial policing operation in place to ensure the game ran smoothly and it is a shame that a small minority of supporters seemed to be intent on causing trouble.”
The men have been bailed until March 9.
