TEENAGE entrepreneur Tom Maxwell is celebrating after his rickshaw business won a top award.
OxonCarts, which provides eco-friendly transport for weddings in and around Oxford, has won the Best Wedding Transport Supplier category for London and the South East in the 2013 Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).
Although the company did not win the national award, Tom – a Cherwell School sixth-form student and the grandson of disgraced Oxford tycoon Robert Maxwell – is delighted with the achievement.
Tom, 16, who lives in Jericho, manages the company which was set up by his older brother Ted in 2006.
He said: “It is nice to see our work has been appreciated.
“It is good fun and it is great to see what we do recognised.”
