Housing masterplan approved

OXFORD’S housing masterplan for the next 13 years has been approved by a government inspector.

The sites and housing development plan document earmarks sites across Oxford as part of its commitment to building 8,000 homes by 2026.

It also includes policies on where student housing and houses of multiple occupation can go.

The plan, which has been declared sound by planning inspector Shelagh Bussey, will go before full council for final approval on Monday, February 18.

But have they been approved by the Oxfordshire branch of the CPRE*?

Failure to get the approval of this vocal group could add £000s to the price of every single home through delays and legal challenges.

Take a trip to Cambridge. They are putting in lots of both city centre and sensible extensions to the edges of the city.

To be frank, we only need to move the students out of the city and into a "student village" which will free up thousands of houses for the rest of us (you know, the people who were born here?).
