Walking off festive excesses at Shotover
1:10pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Oxford

WALKERS gathered in Shotover on New Year’s Day to exercise away some of their Christmas food.
Go Active and Oxford City Council organised a 1.5 mile family walk around the popular wildlife park and around 75 people joined in.
Walk leader Mike Stranks was pleased with the turnout.
Mr Stranks from Headington said: “It was absolutely packed.
“Everybody enjoyed it and we had people of all ages from toddlers up to pensioners.
“It was very muddy in places but that was part of the fun.
“We told people they could blow away their Christmas cobwebs and obviously it was a brilliant day to do it.”
Free health walks are offered year round by Go Active. They run in the city centre on Tuesdays from 10am, at Hinksey Park on Wednesdays from 10am and Bury Knowle Park on Fridays from 10am. For more information contact 01865 252720.
