THE last ever race at Oxford Greyhound Stadium could have been run tonight.
The six dogs crossed the finish line at about 10.30pm bringing the Blackbird Leys venue's 73-year history to an almost certain end.
An estimated crowd of 1,500 came to see the last 12 races and say farewell to the Sandy Lane stadium, which the owners want to flatten to make way for 225 homes.
The final race winner was Moorstown Mystiq.
