AN OXFORDSHIRE vet has opened its fifth practice in the county.

Larkmead Vets has set up a new branch on the Great Western Park estate which was opened by the town’s mayor Jackie Billington last week.

Offering three consulting rooms, the branch is intended to relieve pressure on the company's nearby Park Road surgery, cutting waiting times for appointments.

Senior partner Tim Hutchinson said: “We are excited to be opening on Great Western Park and welcoming customers old and new to our brand new facility.

“The branch is open Monday to Saturday for consultations by appointment, with the aim of providing an easily accessible clinic for the expanding population of Didcot and the surrounding villages.

“Any patient that requires more involved investigative or surgical procedures will be transferred to the hospital facilities, which are staffed 24 hours a day, on Park Road.”

The branch is linked to the other surgeries through a shared computer database, allowing easy access to animal’s records.
