A SERIES of "opportunistic" burglaries have been linked by Thames Valley Police and prompted a fresh appeal for information.

The force said they involved burglary and theft from homes and vehicles in Blewbury, about three miles south of Didcot.

PC Simon Charlton, of Abingdon CID, urged people to lock their vehicles and homes. He said:  "All of the burglaries in this series appear to have been opportunistic – the offenders have seen an unsecured property or vehicle and have taken their chance.

"It’s an awful feeling knowing that a stranger has been in your house even if nothing valuable is taken.

"I’d urge residents to take a look at advice and information on how to prevent burglary and theft from homes and vehicles.”
