A man who died yesterday after being hit by a train at Cholsey near Wallingford was from Didcot, it has been confirmed.
British Transport Police also said that the man, who was hit by a train travelling between Didcot and Reading, was 23 years old.
He has not been named but his family have been informed of his death.
A spokesperson said that the incident, which was reported to police at 05.40am yesterday, was being treated as non-suspicious.
The incident meant that rail passengers faced delays between Oxford and London Paddington, with some services delayed by 60 minutes or diverted.
