A ROBBER carrying a sharp object stole cash from a woman in Didcot last night.

Police said the 38-year-old victim was getting into her car in Station Road at about 8.40pm when she was approached by a man.

She was carrying an envelope that contained cash.

The man stopped her from closing the car door and then held a sharp object to her throat before demanding she hand over the money.

When she gave him the envelope he ran off towards the cinema complex at the top of Station Road towards the town centre.

He was described as white and slim and was wearing a blue hooded top with white writing across the front as well as dark trousers.

The victim received minor scratches to her neck during the incident but did not require hospital treatment.

Det Sgt Pete Scott said: "Fortunately the victim involved in this robbery only received minor injuries but this was undoubtedly a frightening experience for her.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about the offence to come forward and speak to police."
