MORE than 250 protesters gathered at a campsite near Didcot Power Station to protest against the government’s plans to open new gas power stations.
The three days of protests, which finish today with a so-called ‘day of action’, got under way on Saturday.
Protesters took part in workshops lead by groups such as Coal Action Network and The Movement Against Fracking in Euskal Herria.
Activist Hannah Smith, from East Oxford, said she had come along having been involved in other protests in the rest of the United Kingdom.
She said: “Climate change is very real and the most effective form of action is when communities come together for change.”
Events on Sunday included a talk by Community Action Groups Oxfordshire and the Low Carbon Hub, as well as a session with nuclear scientist Dr Ian Fairlie.
