PLANS for the redevelopment of Didcot A power station have gone on display to the public for the first time.
Planning consultants the Pegasus Group held an exhibition on Saturday.
The proposals include up to 400 homes, offices and shops on the site of the former coal-fired power station, which shut in March 2013. Thousands of people watched three of the plant’s six 325ft cooling towers being blown up in July last year.
Mitt Nathwani, 37 of Queensway, Didcot, who went to see the plans, said: “I’m all for development in Didcot. It’s really exciting.

“When I first moved here in 2000 there was just Broadway but now you’ve got the Orchard Centre and lots of new housing planned.
“I think it’s a good thing but they need to make sure the infrastructure is in place to deal with it.”
The demolition of the three remaining cooling towers at the site is expected to take place in the second half of this year.
