Campaigners urge homeowners to apply for HS2 compensation
A group against the London to Oxford high-speed rail link project (HS2) has urged people living nearby to put in for compensation.
It comes after a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), obtained in a Freedom of Information request by campaigners, revealed homes just 500 metres from the tracks could lose as much as 20 per cent of their value.
But High Speed 2 Action Alliance (HS2AA) said fewer than two per cent of the 172,000 set to be affected are likely to get compensation.
