FORMER Lord Lieutenant Sir Hugo Brunner was last night arriving in Kirtlington on his way through Oxfordshire.
The 76-year-old is walking the Oxfordshire Way to raise money for Oxfordshire Family Mediation which helps children cope with divorce.
He started his walk last Saturday in Bourton-on-the-Water.
Sir Hugo will finish on Saturday in Henley-on-Thames.
Lizzie Iron, director of Oxfordshire Family Mediation, said: “We are thrilled to bits that he is doing this walk for us.
“Sir Hugo is such a lovely character and we hope to encourage people to spend time walking with him.”
The Oxfordshire Way is 65 miles long and was created in 1978 by the local branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England and is now managed by Oxfordshire County Council.
