TWO soldiers killed in Afghanistan on Friday were both based at Bicester.
Corporal Andrew Steven Roberts and Private Ratu Manasa Silibaravi were serving with 23 Pioneer Regiment, the Royal Logistic Corps.
Corporal Roberts was a 32-year-old father of three, born in Middlesbrough.
He had been serving as a section commander in the regiment since 2008.
Private Silibaravi was 32 and was born in Fiji. He joined 23 Pioneer Regiment in 2003.
Both were serving as part of Combined Force Burma, when they were killed in an indirect fire attack on Forward Operating Base Ouellette, in the northern part of Nahr-e Saraj district.
Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said:"They have given their lives defending the UK’s national security.
“Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
“My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the two families, as well as friends and colleagues left behind."

I knowit is difficult but we cannot just abandon Afghanistan before the mission is completed. That would be a total waste of the 412 lives lost.
