UPDATE: Trail of mess left by group at Pear Tree Park and Ride

TRAVELLERS threatened with legal action for taking over an Oxford park and ride have simply moved to another site run by a different council.

Caravans started rolling into Bicester Park and Ride this morning to the dismay of regular commuters.

It comes just 24 hours after Oxford City Council served a court notice on the group of 50 vehicles at Pear Tree Park and Ride on Oxford Northern Bypass.

The city council has now confirmed that most, if not all, of the travellers have left Pear Tree and said it believes most of them have now moved onto Bicester, which is run by Oxfordshire County Council.

Replying to an Oxford Mail story about that legal action, commuter Jan Jordan tweeted a picture of the caravans arriving at yet another car park this morning and said 'They have now just moved to Bicester park and ride!'

Buses had been unable to access the Oxford site since the group arrived there on Monday, February, 12.

The city council issued legal proceedings and lodged a possession claim, based on tresspass, before Oxford County Court.
