A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a crash which prompted a call-out by the air ambulance was taken to hospital in Oxford, it has been confirmed.
The silver Honda XL-125 motorcycle rider collided with a Honda Accord on the A41 just outside Bicester last night.
The site was reportedly on the Blackthorn Bridge between the B4011 (Thame turn-off) and Bicester Road.
Police closed the entire road to allow paramedics to get to the scene, prompting long delays into rush hour.
South Central Ambulance Service has now confirmed it was called at 4.57pm and sent two rapid response vehicles and the air ambulance.
The crews assessed and treated just the 34-year-old biker for head injuries.
The driver of the Accord, a 52-year-old man, was not injured.
After being assessed at the scene, the motorcyclist was taken by land ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford accompanied by the air crew.
Police have said he remains in a serious condition.
Police have now appealed for any witnesses to the crash to get in touch by calling 101.
