MOTOR vehicles, planes and military machinery old and new packed out the Bicester Heritage site as the Flywheel Festival came to town.

Visitors were treated to displays and flypasts as well as demonstrations by historic cars over the weekend.

Military re-enactors were on the scene to give the event a sense of nostalgia and transport visitors back in time.

Alex Lewis, six, from Hook Norton, came along to see some of the classic vehicles on display.

On Sunday he said: "Today has been fun, I'm enjoying driving around in my car."

Bicester Heritage managing director Dan Geoghegan said it had been a "truly exceptional" day.

He said: ""We opened up the technical site this year as well as we have almost completed on the renovations and we want people to be able to experience what we have done.

"It is all about being open for people to get up close to the vehicles and Flywheel does that very well."

Bicester Heritage is the UK's first park for the restoration, storage and enjoyment of vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes, housed at a former RAF bomber station.
