BICESTER students have turned to graffiti artist Banksy to inject a bit of colour into their new sixth form building.
The pupils of Bardwell School, in Hendon Place, have created a series of graffiti-style boards as part of a project with Oxfordshire charity OYAP.
The special education school joined forces with the Bicester-based charity in February to support students in creating artwork to represent themselves.
Working with local graffiti artists through the OYAP Trust, students created the large boards including a sign for the sixth form with images reflecting their interests.
Another board was designed to create a symbol for the sixth form – a cube that is interconnected with the words friendship, community and independence.
Ben Grimwade, 17, took his parents Ian and Vanessa to the exhibition.
His mother said: “I particularly like the graffiti wall,. They did that at a studio in Bicester and it has allowed the students to be really creative.”
