A MAN was stabbed in the shoulder in an assault in Bicester.

Police said the 21-year-old was attacked in the town on Friday shortly before 7.30pm as he was walking down an alleyway off Blake Road towards the Co-op in Bure Park.

Two men walked towards him and one of them stabbed him in the shoulder as he went past, officers said.

The victim did not see a weapon and none has been found by police following the incident.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and received stitches but has now been released.

Det Con Paddy O’Grady said: “This was an isolated incident.

“These kind of incidents are very rare in Bicester and we are carrying out patrols in the area to reassure the public.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the assault or who was in the area at the time and saw those involved.”
