A WOMAN found stabbed to death at a house in Bicester was a mum-of-two who worked as a beautician.

Police were called to Lucerne Avenue at 10am on Saturday following reports of a dispute, to find Janeé Parsons, 31, sufferering stab wounds.

Despite attempts by police officers and ambulance staff to resuscitate her, she was declared dead at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Mrs Parsons is believed to be of American descent and her family in the United States are travelling to the UK to assist police.

Colleagues of Mrs Parsons at Bicester Clinic, a cosmetic clinic in The Causeway, have been stunned by her death.

They said on Twitter: “She was our wonderful skin specialist at Bicester Clinic. Rest in peace.”

Detective Chief Inspector Joe Kidman, who is leading the investigation, said: “The victim’s family has been informed of the death and although formal identification of the woman’s body is yet to take place, we believe her to be Janeé Parsons, aged 31.

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident, but are keen to speak with anyone in Lucerne Avenue who may have important information to help us establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.”

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was last night in police custody.

Area Commander Superintendent Andy Boyd added: “The investigation is in the early stages and officers from our Major Crime Department are leading the inquiry, supported by the local neighbourhood policing team who will be available in the area to offer reassurance.

“Such violent crime is very rare in Cherwell and I understand the concern that incidents such as these can cause.

“I would like to offer the reassurance to residents that I can say at this stage that this is not believed to be a random attack and we believe that the victim and the offender knew each other. However, if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”

Husband and wife Danny and Dimitria Boakye live opposite Mrs Parsons’ home in Lucerne Avenue. Mr Boakye, 45, said: “We are devastated – this is a horrible thing to happen.”

Next-door neighbours Alan and Valerie Parsons, who are not related to Mrs Parsons, said the couple moved in 18 months ago.

Mr Parsons, 64, said: “We did not really know them, they kept themselves to themselves, but they seemed like a very happy family.”

Anthony Ratsey, 52, of Lucerne Avenue, added: “It is the sort of thing you see on the news and you never expect it to be in your neighbourhood.”

Neighbour Maria Evans added: “It is such a huge shock to hear something like this has happened. “My children are friends with her kids and feel like they want to help.”
