BANBURY celebrated the end of the Olympics with a festival of sport at Woodgreen open-air pool and sports hall.
Saturday’s event included free swimming, football, skater hockey, table tennis, circuit training and badminton. Youngsters also enjoyed face-painting and henna tattoos while visitors got to find out about sport clubs and activities.
Among the guests at the Woodgreen Avenue event was Olympic torchbearer and gym owner Dave Earle, pictured below with Emmaunella Hinneh, five. He said the success of London 2012 would have a lasting positive impact around the UK.
He said: “I hope it galvanises them to believe that, as long as they work hard, they can achieve what they want. The whole country certainly seems more positive now.”
