Pregnant woman rescued after flat fire
8:41am Wednesday 13th June 2012 in Banbury
TWO people trapped in their second floor flat flat by a blaze were rescued by firefighters this morning.
A pregnant woman and a man were led down a ladder to safety in Banbury's Market Place.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 3.17am.
Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes and found the pair trapped in the second floor flat with a fire below them.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire on the ground floor using high pressure hose reels.
The cause of the fire is thought to have originated from an electrical appliance.
