BANBURY: More than 700 people attended the funeral of tragic marathon runner Claire Squires yesterday.
They wore touches of red, the 30-year-old’s favourite colour, to the service held in North Kilworth, Leicestershire.
The hairdresser was running for Banbury and District Samaritans, where her mother Priscilla is a volunteer, when she collapsed near the finish of the 26-mile run on April 22.
Donations to the charity have since topped £1m.
Ms Squires was buried in the same grave as her brother Grant, who died in 2001 aged 25.
