Another war grenade discovered in Banbury

Bomb disposal experts were called to a building site in Banbury this afternoon for the second time in a week.
The Army team from 11 EOD Regiment was called to the site off Middleton Road, Grimsbury, shortly after 2pm.
They first attended the site on Thursday following the discovery of six World War Two smoke grenades.
Army spokesman Chris Fletcher said the six grenades found last week were detonated in controlled explosions.
He added: “Another grenade has been found and another controlled explosion will be carried out by a team from 11 EOD Regiment.”
South Central Ambulance spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said: “We understand that another canister has been found at the same site.
“The ambulance service’s Hazardous Area Response Team is in attendance and the incident is ongoing.”
Thames Valley Police spokesman Lucy Billen said firefighters have been called to the incident and added that police officers have closed a number of roads in the area.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire Service confirmed firefighters were at the site but would not comment further.
