PARAMEDICS took one person to hospital with 'potentially serious injuries' after a fear for welfare incident on the M40.
Police shut the northbound road from 10.15am until 11am this morning, due to concerns about someone's safety.
Thames Valley Police spokesman James Williams confirmed officers were dealing with a 'fear for welfare incident'.
South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Michelle Archer said ambulances were called out just before 10am, and crews including from Thames Valley Air Ambulance attended.
She said one male patient, whose age was not logged, was taken by land ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital, with 'potentially serious' injuries.
Traffic was held in both directions at 10.15am between junctions 10 (Cherwell Valley Services) and 11 (Banbury).
The northbound road remained shut until 11am, but both sides of the road have now fully reopened.
