A CONVICTED paedophile who was handed a life line last year and spared jail for viewing images of children has been given another chance after he was again caught with obscene images while on bail.

In October last year Phillip Wilson, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury, admitted downloading almost 100 indecent images and 16 movies featuring youngsters aged between five and 13.

At Oxford Crown Court Judge Ian Pringle QC told the 31-year old he would take a 'merciful' course and handed him a two-year community order.

He said at the time: "These are real children that you are watching being abused and if you are ever tempted to look at such images again, just remind yourself, when you flick the switch, that's what you are doing - creating a market for abusing children."

Despite the condemnation for his actions Wilson appeared again at Oxford Crown Court on Friday where he admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of children between July 13 and October 2 last year.

The court heard that police searched his home address while he was on bail in October and seized a computer, which was found to contain two images of category C, six images of category B and eight of the most severe category; A.

After they discovered the obscene images he later told police that he had 'got drunk and had a slip'.

In mitigation, Peter Du Feu said that his client had long battled mental health issues and described his re-offending as a one-off.

He said: "He has huge anxiety and depression issues that he has been dealing with and he confirms there has been no slip since October last year and he says there won't be."

Judge Ian Pringle QC handed him another community order for 12 months to include a ten-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years and must pay a victim surcharge.
