A 21-year-old was chased by a number of men before he was assaulted in a 'targeted attack' with a knife.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the assault in Banbury.
Between midday and 1pm on Tuesday, the victim was chased up and down a driveway in Withycombe Drive, Banbury, by a number of males who the force believe were carrying a knife.
The offenders were seen arriving in the area in a grey Renault Laguna and after a short chase, the victim was assaulted outside the property in Withycombe Drive.
The offenders used a knife and the victim suffered superficial injuries to his chest and back which required hospital treatment.
A 28-year-old man from Cropredy was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released under investigation.
A 19-year-old man from Banbury was also arrested on suspicion of the same offence and remains in custody.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Grahame Lea said: "We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
"In particular we would ask anyone who saw a grey Renault Laguna in the area between midday and 1pm or people seen running from the area, to come forward and contact us.
“It is believed that this incident was a targeted attack. However anyone with any concerns or information is asked to call us on 101."
