POLICE are hunting for a wanted man who has failed to attend appointments following his release from prison.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the public to help find David French, 32, who is wanted on recall to prison.

French was last seen on July 15 in Edmonds Road, Banbury.

He is described as white, 5ft 10ins, of broad build with cropped brown hair. He has a birthmark on the left side of his neck.

The force has urged members of the public not to approach him.

Det Sgt Lee Newman, from Banbury police station, said: "We are continuing to make enquiries to trace David. He failed to attend his appointments following his release from prison.

"We would still like to hear from anyone who recognises David or knows of his whereabouts and ask them not to approach him but to contact police as a matter of urgency.

"He is known to frequent the Banbury area and also has links to Basingstoke so I would also appeal to anyone in Hampshire to report any possible sightings of David."
