POLICE want to speak to a man and woman seen in Aldi shortly before a 63-year-old woman's purse was stolen from her handbag.

CCTV images have been released showing them in the Banbury store, in Beaumont Road, at about 1.30pm on Sunday, August 14.

The 63-year-old woman had her purse removed from her handbag whilst shopping.

Thames Valley Police said she was "shielded from other shoppers" when one of the suspects appeared to look at a blanket.

Within minutes, her bank cards had been used in the nearby Tesco supermarket.

Officers want to speak to the man and woman pictured in connection with the theft.

PC Suzanne Goodman, based at Banbury police station, said: "I would like to talk to anyone who may have any information which they think could help our investigation into this incident.

"I would encourage everyone to ensure their personal belongings are secure on their person when out in public places and be mindful of those around you in retail environments where you are most likely to be using cash, cards or a mobile phone for payment."

Those with information should call 101.
