A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill an Oxfordshire County Council staff member, police said.
Thames Valley Police said it was called to Banbury’s Samuelson House, in Tramway Road, at 11.10am after reports a man had threatened to kill a staff member on the telephone.
It said the council locked down the building, as part of its normal procedure if staff are threatened.
The force said a man, from Bicester, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and is in custody.
Inspector Katrina Hibbert, from Bicester police station, said: “We take all reports of such threats very seriously and respond swiftly. We are confident that this was a targeted threat and did not pose a danger to the general public. The incident has now been resolved.”
