IT’S not hard to see why Britain loves a roast dinner.

Now a restaurant in Banbury has called on food fans to help them use the traditional dish in an attempt to become Guinness World Record Holders.

Toby Carvery restaurants around the UK are celebrating the company’s 30th birthday this year by attempting to collect the largest online photo album of roast dinners – they need 50,000.

Staff at Banbury’s Ermont Way restaurant are confident they can help break the record by getting people to take photos of their dinners.

Waitress Wendy Newton, who has lived in Banbury for 34 years, said: “I just love the variety of a roast dinner. I usually make one twice a week.”

Manager Donna McCloskey said the project was the ultimate birthday treat and is confident Banbury locals will send over pictures of their dinners.

People can send their pictures to worldrecord.tobycarvey.co.uk.
