MORE young people are set to feel the benefit of revamped facilities at the Banbury Foyer after a three-year makeover gave it a striking new look.

The £1.8m renovation of the Mawle Court building began in 2012, with refurbishments to shared areas.

Now it has finally finished, with living space provided for up to eight more tenants.

Run by national housing provider Sanctuary Supported Living, the foyer provides help and accommodation to young people aged 16 to 25. Improvements over the two-phase programme included a redesigned reception, an IT suite, and a garden with a vegetable patch and seating area.

A new shared kitchen has also been added, converted from an existing bedsit.

Resident Beth Curtin, 17, said: “The IT suite has made a huge difference to me when I’m looking for work.”

At present, 27 young people live in the building. There is an adapted bedsit for tenants with a disability.
