A SPRUCED-UP children’s ward at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury has welcomed its first visitors.
The ward was recently redecorated with a woodland theme to make young people at the ward feel more comfortable.
To celebrate, an Easter party was held yesterday for local and long-term patients and their families.
Those attending enjoyed arts and crafts and an Easter egg hunt organised by the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Jonah Hornez, nine, said of the makeover: “I like it – especially the animals.”
He was also impressed with the playroom facilities.
Horton children’s ward manager Zoe Butler said: “We now have a much better environment focused on children and their comfort.
The area is also much more family-friendly and we have already had some great feedback.
“The difference it has made to the patients, their families and the staff so far is brilliant.”
Tony McDonald, general manager of children’s and women’s division, said: “We are delighted."
