A COLLECTION of colours and textures are lining the walls of Banbury’s Mill Arts Centre in a new exhibition called Inscapes.
The exhibition at the Spiceball Park centre is a collection of paintings and etchings from 10 years’ work of artist and psychotherapist Heleena Yates.
The 66-year-old lives just outside the town, in Greatworth, and has taken inspiration from her work in creative therapy, producing abstracts as self-expression.
She said: “My main focus is colour and movement and how the paint moves across the paper. It is the process of developing and staging and is therapeutic.”
The pieces are large frames which use acrylics and organic materials such as earth or sand to create complex layers and textures.
Arts education assistant at the centre Emma Nooney said: “We are excited to have Heleena’s work exhibited at the Mill.”
The exhibition runs until Saturday, January 31.
