EIGHT homes are to be built in Sibford Ferris after Cherwell District councillors approved the plans on Thursday.
The homes, six of which will be affordable, will be built on a six-hectare field to the east of the village.
There were no objections to the proposals.
District council lead member for planning Michael Gibbard said: “There is an identified need for affordable housing in Sibford Ferris.
“We have agreed that a small proportion of the houses could be for the open market to cross subsidise the development of the affordable homes, making the scheme more viable.”
