THAMES Valley Police has referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) over the handling of an incident this morning.
At 1.47am officers were called to Newland Road, Banbury, after reports of criminal damage.
As police arrived at the scene two men left but when officers searched the area they found a 22-year-old man lying on the ground with a head injury. It is thought he had fallen from a nearby building.
The man is currently in the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford with non life-threatening injuries.
