CASH was stolen and a member of staff threatened during a burglary at Tesco Extra in Banbury this morning .
Five men wearing balaclavas broke into the Lockheed Crescent store through a fire exit at about 2.30am.
They then broke open the self service till using crowbars before taking cash and leaving the shop.
A member of staff was threatened but no one was injured.
The men are described as having English accents but police were not able to give any further description of their appearance.
Det Con Claire Argent from Banbury CID said: “This was obviously a pre-planned and organised attack on the Tesco store in Lockheed Crescent.
“If you were around in Banbury in the early hours of this morning and saw anything which you think might help with our investigations please contact us immediately.”
