OXFORD MAGISTRATES.

  1. Lukas Balej, 28, of Cottesmore Road, Oxford, convicted of driving without insurance in London Road, Headington, Oxford, on April 5. Fined £600 and told to pay £85 costs and a £65 victims’ surcharge. Also given six points on his driving licence.
  2. Michael Belcher, 45, of London Street, Faringdon, near Oxford, admitted driving without insurance in Goodlake Avenue, Faringdon, on March 27. Fined £500 and told to pay a £50 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Also given six points on his driving licence.
  3. Norbert David, 38, of Pinnocks Way, Botley, admitted driving without insurance in Vineyard, Abingdon, on March 26. Fined £600 and told to pay £85 costs and a £60 victims’ surcharge. Also given six points on his driving licence.
  4. Stephen Rushmer, 50, of Magdalen Road, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in the Red Star Noodle Bar, Cowley Road, Oxford, on September 22. Exclusion order made for six months banning him from entering the Red Star Noodle Bar and fined £25. Also told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  5. Colin White, 45, of O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, on October 5. Given a 68-day prison sentence because the assault was repeated, serious, unprovoked, caused injuries and a weapon was used. Also told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  6. Michael Elphick, 30, of Coopers Lane, Abingdon, admitted possessing 0.41g of ketamine, a Class C drug, in St Mary’s, Wantage, on July 24. Fined £50 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Luke Grant, 28, of no fixed address, admitted stealing cigarettes worth £58.04 from the Co-op in Cowley Road, Oxford, on September 28. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence made on May 8 by Oxford Magistrates’ Court for theft. Given 148-day prison sentence because his suspended sentence was activated and he has previous convictions for dishonesty offences and a record of failing to comply with non-custodial sentences. Also told to pay £58.04 compensation and an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  8. John Hudson, 41, of Springfield Drive, Abingdon, admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop following a road accident in Bath Street, Abingdon, on September 22. Also admitted using racially aggravated, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the same location on the same date. Fined £280 and told to pay £50 compensation and a £20 victims’ surcharge. Given eight points on his driving licence.
  9. Kamara Lawrence, 21, of Field Avenue, Oxford, admitted stealing clothing worth £50 from Asda in Templars Square Shopping Centre, Cowley, Oxford, on July 4. Also admitted two counts of common assault in the store the same day. Community order made with 12-month supervision requirement and thinking ahead for women programme requirement. Also told to pay £40 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES.

  1. Cory Fitton, 40, of Brickle Lane, Bloxham, admitted drink-driving on Humber Street, Bloxham, on September 18. Had 125 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Given a three-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Damage was caused to other vehicles and there was a risk to the public. Ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the next year, pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from holding a driving licence for 36 months.
  2. Gordon Kearney, 54, of Eleanor Court, Drayton Road, Abingdon, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her at Croasdell Close, Abingdon, on August 30. Given a community order requiring treatment for alcohol dependency for six months and participation in a Building Better Relationships programme for 30 days. Ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  3. Gary Owen, 43, of Sterling Road, Kidlington, admitted assaulting a woman and causing criminal damage to a mobile phone at an address in Briar Furlong, Ambrosden, near Bicester, on July 19. Given a two-month prison sentence suspended for two years. Given a supervision order for 24 months and ordered to participate in a Building Better Relationships programme for 30 days. Given a restraining order against the victim for three years. Ordered to pay £300 compensation, an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  4. Michael Bryant, 27, of Mascord Road, Banbury, admitted contacting a woman he was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order made at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on April 24. Given a community order with a 10-week electronically-monitored curfew between 8pm and 6am and ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  5. Richard Hilde, 25, of Abbott Road, Didcot, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely South Bar Street, Banbury, on September 21. Also admitted committing an offence while subject to a conditional discharge given at Carmarthenshire Magistrates’ Court for threatening behaviour and being drunk and disorderly on August 8, 2013. Fined £195 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  6. Kamil Fedorczuk, 31, of Hawthorn Grove, Carterton, admitted stealing a bag and contents of value unknown in Banbury on June 11, 2013, and failing to answer bail at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on June 26, 2013. Fined £200 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  7. Angela Parker, of Bourton Close, Witney, admitted failing without reasonable excuse to ensure her child attended school between February 24 and July 4. Fined £35 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £20 costs.
  8. Adras Hegedus, 54, of Burford Road, Witney, was convicted of failing without reasonable excuse to ensure that a child went to school between February 3 and April 22 in Carterton. Fined £875 and ordered to pay an £88 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs.
