A MAN from near Banbury who rescued a neighbour from a fire is among life-savers who will be honoured for their bravery by Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service tonight.

Clint Walther, of Mill Lane in Shenington, will be presented with a commendation award in a ceremony at the service’s Kidlington Fire Station.

His neighbour had become disorientated due to waist-high smoke coming from a fire in her home on November 22 last year. Mr Walther took her out of the property and firefighters later said his actions saved her life as she would have died from smoke inhalation before they arrived.
