A 38-year-old man has been given a suspended sentence for possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Iqbal Zahir, of West Street, Banbury, was yesterday handed a three-month sentence suspended for 18 months at Oxford Crown Court.

The chef admitted possession of 10 grams of cannabis, a class B drug which was found in his wallet by police on April 27, 2011.

He also confessed to possession of 38.8 grams of extremely low purity cocaine, which is a class A drug and was hidden in the boot of his car on the same date.

He was also given a supervision order for 12 months.
