House fire death woman named

A WOMAN who died after a house fire near Abingdon has been named by police.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Intombizodwa Hove, known as Tombi.

Police were called to a house in Spey Road, Shippon, at about 10.15am on Friday following a fire in an upstairs room.

Ms Hove was found inside and taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital , but later died.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday by a Home Office pathologist but the preliminary results were inconclusive. Further examinations are now due to take place.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Supt Rob Mason said: “Our enquiries are continuing and we are working towards establishing the full circumstances behind this tragic death.”

Police are now treating the death as unexplained rather than suspicious.
