The police helicopter has today been used to search for missing woman Joanna Lake today as officers become increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Ms Lake, 58, was last seen by a friend at her home in Pudsey Close, Abingdon at about 3.15pm on Monday.
She is described as white, slim, with shoulder-length light brown hair and is 5ft 7ins. She was last seen wearing a pink jumper and pink trousers.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Rebecca Webber said the helicopter was used in a search of the Abingdon area, including the town’s marina.
Det Insp Kevin Elkins, who is leading the search, added: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Joanna’s welfare.
“She has been missing for two days, she has no phone, limited access to money and possibly is without a coat. She also has limited mobility.
“We are anxious to locate Joanna as soon as possible.
Anyone with any information about Joanna’s whereabouts should contact police on enquiry line 101, quoting missing person URN 605 21/2.
