ABINGDON: A pensioner who died after his car collided with a bus has been named.

Gordon Cordell, 80, of Otwell Close, was in his Ford Fusion when it and an Oxford Bus Company X3 service collided in Oxford Road at 11.55am on Monday. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, but died later.

A spokesman for the Oxfordshire Coroner said an inquest was opened and adjourned on Wednesday.
